“The total number of exhibition gardens, the number of overseas exhibition gardens, and the number of association and enterprise exhibition gardens in this year’s World Horticultural Exhibition have all reached the highest level in previous B-class World Horticultural Expositions, achieving full coverage of the participating cities on five continents.” Ding Fuzhuang, the relevant person in charge of the Planning and Design Department of Chengdu Horticultural Expo Operation and Development Co., Ltd., said that each exhibition garden vividly showcases the unique scenery and culture of the country and city it represents. “Tourists can enjoy beauty of various parts of the world by strolling around the main venue for a day.”
Taking chance of this exhibition, Chengdu has also ushered a “British Elizabeth Garden”. The designer of the exhibition, Zuo Yuanbin, introduced that British horticulture mainly adopts a natural and simple style. “We use the natural 8-meter height difference to construct a three-dimensional horticulture.”
Montpellier and Chengdu are sister cities in France. The city’s exhibition garden features grapes as the main theme, and has created an open-air theater and a sunny lounge, showcasing the elegance and romance of French gardens.
The domestic exhibition gardens are dedicate too – Chengdu Garden is mainly composed of natural mountains and waters, with “one pavilion, one residence, and one corridor” as the main scenery. To the east, there are high mountains and cascading waterfalls, surrounded by water in the middle, and to the west, there are beautiful and picturesque fields, which complement each other, showcasing the beautiful and unique landscape of Western Sichuan gardens.
Based on the royal garden, Beijing Garden has created three core attractions: “window for poetic lakes and mountains”, “wetland of nine fragrances”, and “Pavilion of All Spring Scenery”. Among them, a 20 meter long T-shaped platform was also built on the second floor of the “Pavilion of All Spring Scenery” to facilitate tourists to take photos and visit.
The century old boardwalk on the eastern coast, the northwest scenery along the Yellow River, the elegant and exquisite small buildings in the south regions of the Yangtze River, and the life wonders at 45 degrees north latitude… In the main venue of the Chengdu International Horticultural Exhibition, various gardens are scattered and glittering. The Chengdu International Horticultural exhibition will establish a communication platform for horticultural enthusiasts and practitioners from around the world.

Zhang Yongchao, the head of the Industrial Operations Department of Chengdu Horticultural Expo Operation and Development Co., Ltd., introduced that the main venue of the Chengdu International Horticultural Exhibition has specially created two themed tourist routes, “International Style” and “Chengdu Flavor”, as well as a variety of commercial consumption scenes, providing tourists with a “one-step” experience journey——
In the “International Style” tour route, tourists can stroll through 31 exhibition parks, including the International Friendship Museum, to experience the charm of various parts of the world.
The “Chengdu Flavor” tour line connects characteristic exhibition areas such as Chinese horticulture and Tianfu living environment through 82 exhibition gardens. At Time Street of cotton rose city , tourists can experience various flavors of Sichuan; The square tea drinking and local drama in the Tianfu living environment block allow tourists to experience beauty of this park city under the snow capped mountains and its happy folk life.
During the exhibition, the main venue will also hold nine categories of more than 1000 interactive activities, such as the “Twelve Songs of the World Garden”. Through “daily activities and weekly highlights,” it will bring a unique journey of rich experiences and resonating with the feeling of tourists.
